No one knows if he was truly blind. Blame around the block is on hawk, I only heard just like you. Everyone knows him. And just like you everyone is pointing their fingers not knowing much. Maybe no one elses name is floating about. There are still a lot of scared and angry people out there.

apparently Tennessee had just cashed 2 or 3 of his disability checks the afternoon of the murder. there were also other rumors circulating in the neighborhood that earlier in the week he had gotten into an argument with another homeless man when he chased him out of his ditch. regardless, it seems that whoever killed him KNEW that he had just cashed his checks, because that money was missing when they found his body. i'm sure someone in the homeless community knows something. you don't just show up with thousands of dollars one day and not have a reason.

I'm impressed by the socially-minded response of these two businesses. Offering to help bring justice to the homeless community is a far greater esteem booster than handing quarters out a car window. Kudos Taco Shack and Trudys. Seth

It happens. A guy near my house got a 5 figure personal injury settlement (from being hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle drunk). He never got robbed of the money, but it didn't last too long.

word around the neighborhood was that it was a back pay check from the VA or from a homeless organization like ARC or Caritas.

He was blind and he got social security disability probably.

Why would a homeless man have received "a large sum of money"? That seems odd.
