This Saturday at 5pm, a rally will take place on the front steps of the State Capitol to show support for a man that many believe sits on Texas' death row as an innocent. The event will have speakers, live music and food for all supporters who come out.
On August 15, 1996, one Kenneth Foster was arrested with three others for alleged participation in the robbery and murder of a victim. On May 5, 1997, Kenneth took the blame for this crime, convicted of capital murder and sentenced to die by lethal injection. Foster is currently scheduled to be executed very soon, on August 30, 2007.
Members of Free Kenneth Foster believe that Foster's case is nothing more than a "wrong place, wrong time" situation, and that Foster was falsely convicted of the murder. Their goal is to see Foster pardoned from death row.
If you're interested in this case, go to the Free Kenneth Foster website. If, after reading Kenneth's case, you believe it's possible that he was wrongly placed on death row, then get out there on the Capitol steps (south side) to show your support this Saturday at 5pm.
