John Mackey Is Sorry, Y'all

Whole Foods Market Co-Founder and CEO John Mackey today issued a formal apology statement, after the company's Board of Directors announced that it was launching its own internal investigation into his message board postings.

"I sincerely apologize to all Whole Foods Market stakeholders for my error in judgment in anonymously participating on online financial message boards," wrote Mackey. "I am very sorry and I ask our stakeholders to please forgive me."

The Whole Foods Board has retained the advisory services of legal firm Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, and stated that it "will refrain from comment" until the investigation has finished.

I am really sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. I really should have started my own website to do this instead. The FEC can kiss my ass, respectfully of course, because I was just sharing my feelings. I don't think that is illegal. It's not my fault I was born with a small package and have to get my jollies defending myself to inflate my big ego, I can't go around yelling at store employees all day can I? So what if my haircut sucks, I could buy and sell your little mom and pop grocery store in my sleep. Wal Mart is next, so just watch out! You think I care about food, and living wages, and the environment?! Screw that crap, I want the cash. I want to swim in it like uncle scrooge. Come to think of it, I do kind of look like him. But my point here is I'm sorry. Sorry I got caught. Now my shareholders and board know that I have s-loads of time on my hands to be screwing off and not helping the company at all. I think that's horrible and should have never have happened.

Personally, I'm through with Whole Foods. This combined with his rant about how great Wal-Mart is and how bad unions are is enough. Wheatsville Co-op all the way.

i think it's like this, everyone. because sometimes, there's a man.

Walter Sobchak: Am I wrong?
The Dude: No you're not wrong.
Walter Sobchak: Am I wrong?
The Dude: You're not wrong Walter. You're just an asshole.
Walter Sobchak: All right then.
