The Austin City Limits Festival gang are smart enough to know that a) all the people lining up with their plastic cups full of merlot waiting patiently to see Los Lonely Boys and proudly displaying their It's Been a Crazy Weekend henna tattoos aren't just tying their kids up to trees when they leave, and b) there is an ever-growing market for music aimed at kids and families. Combining these two concepts (we assume) gave birth to Austin Kiddie Limits, which will be taking place on its own stage during the ACL festival.
Still unsure of how to introduce children to "our" music, the lineup for the reflects a fairly impressive push to give kids a chance to watch live music that will appeal to them, while simultaneously offering young adults the chance to perform for their peers and some grown ups, too. Rather than putting your kid on your shoulders and shuffling over to let them watch Andrew Bird play the violin or throwing down a towel stage left-left-left and having an impromptu dance party to Ghostland, pull up a folding Adirondack and bust out that $35 water bottle: we're watching real kids music.
Teasing aside, it's comforting to see a convergence between rock 'n' roll, live music events and families. Maybe they'll even offer free water to adults accompanying children. Regardless, parents, guardians, aunts, uncles and babysitters will have a chance to see acts like Sarah Hickman, Jambo, We Go to 11 (we wonder if their parents named them that) and The Sippy Cups. Follow the jump for the full list and their AKL festival schedules.

Austinist's Will Mills Gets Dunked For Charity [Video]

This isn't anything new. They've been doing Austin Kiddie Limits since at least 2004, if not earlier.
Where the hell is the Telephone Company? They're only the best kid's band in town. Ask any 5 year old and they'll tell you what for.
WHERE THE HECK IS THE PALM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHOIR!! Ok, I don't have kids nor would I go see them but haven't they been on the schedule since the first one? Poor kids.
Why was my post taken down? Censorship sucks.
I'm boycotting Austin Kiddie Limits this year due to the Biscuit Brothers snub.
The kiddie limits has some bigger named 15-minute acts...
