Saturday night's alright for fighting, but Sunday night? Well, last night APD was called to the Pleasant Valley/Quicksilver Lane area in Southeast Austin after someone reported hearing gunshots. So they were on the scene when the driver of a pickup truck attempted to drive over a group of people, and then tried to run over some police officers. When the driver, Reynaldo Loredo Gonzalez, started towards the cops, he was fired at by a couple of them.
The police say they aren't certain where or how many times he was hit, but Gonzalez was taken to Brackenridge and is being treated for his non-life-threatening wounds. He is being charged with aggravated assault, and so is Michael Morin, who was involved with the shooting that brought the cops out to the area in the first place.
Why and who was Morin shooting? Why did Gonzalez feel such a need to flee the scene? The exact events of last night are still being investigated.

So running away from the cops while under the suspision of having a gun without actually pulling it or firing it gets you dead if your a black man but driving towards the cops while your buddy actually has a gun that he's fired at people will only get you some non-life-threatening wounds if you're MesoAmerican?
Further proof that skin color really does matter more than the severity of the crime.
