Food Event Preview: "Everything Texas" Pairing Dinner At Mirabelle Sunday

EverythingBanner.jpgMiraFinal.jpg

When summer arrives, most food and wine events disappear into the hot summer air, not to be seen again until fall. Thankfully, this year seems to be an exception to that rule. On Sunday the 15th, the Wine & Food Foundation is partnering with Mirabelle and Chef Michael Vilum to create a special summer foodie event. The Mirabelle dining room will host a 'sip and stroll' dinner featuring seven different dishes (three appetizers, three meat main courses, and a dessert) paired with some of Texas' finest wine.

The local spin on the afternoon is that all food and wine products on the menu will be sourced from Texas, including Pure Luck cheeses, Elgin sausage, Texas grapefruits, and Gulf Red Snapper. All of the dishes have been paired with complementary wines from Texas vineyards, leading to delicious courses like rubbed beef short ribs with garlic sausage and white cheddar grits paired with a Fall Creek Vineyards Meritus Cabernet blend. Other participating Everything Texas wineries include Becker, Stonehouse, Flat Creek, Spicewood, and McPherson.

As a mood-setter for the afternoon, live music will also be provided by the Lost and Nameless Orchestra. So if you're unable to hit the lake this weekend with the portable grill, why not just go upscale with your Sunday afternoon and try the best of our state's summer food offerings?
