Coyote Funeral DVD Release Party

coyote_funeralB_07-09-07.jpg“There’s a sign on the east Texas border that says Beaumont 23, El Paso 857. To me it was a braggadocio, quintessential Texas symbol," says Coyote Funeral co-director Jason May about the original inspiration for the film about two estranged brothers who rekindle their boyhood friendship on a walk across Texas. (The kind of thing we wish we'd done while we still had the opportunity. The walking part, not the boyhood friendship rekindling part.)

Directed by May and fellow Houstonian Phelps Harmonan, the independent feature was filmed entirely along the back roads of this great state, and features a soundtrack full of Texas artists including Cooder Graw, Robert Earl Keen, Charlie Robison, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kevin Fowler, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, and Bleu Edmondson.

Tuesday night, the film will debut on DVD with a special Austin screening and concert at The Mohawk. The party will feature performances by Jason Herd, Texas Renegade, and Adam Carroll, followed by an outdoor screening of Coyote Funeral introduced by the filmmakers.

This will definitely be a good time, but seating is limited, so please RSVP to rsvp@coyotefuneral.com with your Name and email address. And bring a blanket!
