Austinist Giveaway: But, I Could Do That
Yellow Tape Construction Company, the masters of self-promotion that they are, have so much weird, entertaining content on their website...it's a more than a little addicting. Our recent favorite, by far, is a funky video of Yellow Taper Doug Rutherford doing some, er, Yellowtape-ish things with a balloon and a scarf and his face. Just...yeah. Check it out.
We imagine the highly anticipated YTCC production, But, I Could Do That, opening tonight and running this weekend only at The Off Center, will also be something you'll want to check out. As with the previous, highly-lauded, Amanda Butterfield-helmed show, We Are Normal, Cha Cha Chaaa (it was fantastic), there's quite a bit of secrecy surrounding the content of this work. We expect it will be much the same as Cha Cha Chaaa: clever choreography, engaging performances, and fabulous music from Belaire's Cari Palazzolo. Yet we also expect something entirely different, as Yellow Tape never fails to produce innovative new work. In other words, we smell another smash hit. Even if it doesn't have anything to do with feathers. Or clowns.
The show is likely to sell out, but we've got a pair of tickets for Friday night's show set aside for one lucky Austinist reader!
Congratulations to our winner!
If you weren't fleet-fingered enough, you can pick up tickets for the low-low price of $15 right here.
