Greetings from your San Francisco-bound host of The Laurie Show. I'm going on a trip with my Broken Clock Cabaret peeps to the Bay Area for a short tour of Inside A Broken Clock: A Tom Waits Peepshow next week. However, you can bet I'm on the air tonight, 90.5 on the FM, and the show will be packed with plenty of great local music, plus a special KUT Studio 1A performance by The Rosebuds. I send my heartfelt thanks to those kids for visiting. They are wonderful.

In addition to my weekly music raves and recommendations in this here column, I also have previews of fantastic performances happening next week that you won't want to miss! Take notes, kids. This is a lot of stuff.

Tonight, while I'm spinning the tunes, I expect you to be out and about for the multitude of shows that will surely inspire my playlist. The Boxing Lesson gets things started at the Flamingo Cantina on 6th St. for a show featuring McPullish and Thulsa-Doom. Emo's 15th Anniversary Week continues with fabulous performances by the reunited Glorium on the outside stage, with Faceless Werewolves, Horse + Donkey, and Matt Oliver of Sound Team on the bill. Wander over to the inside stage to catch Gang Gang Dance, or Emo's lounge for a full-on assault of punkabilly madness with Scott H. Biram. Always a great gig, sir. I salute you.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketRoom 710 on Red River is also celebrating its anniversary this weekend, 7 years to be exact. The party continues tonight with Dixie Witch, Amplified Heat, The Quick & The Dead, and Sabbath Crow shaking it up and tearing it down. Rawk yer brains out.

Fashion's your passion? No problemo. Head over to the Mohawk tonight for the Rare Magazine Fashion Show, featuring live music by The Lemurs. There is also more insanity to be had at the Continental Club this evening, as your "forever girl" (heh heh) Mr. Lewis and the Funeral 5 takes to the stage, followed by American Graveyard and my most favorite loonies in the universe, the White Ghost Shivers. I say it with love: They're out of their minds.

My pals from my mag of choice, Misprint, are celebrating Bloshki's Birthday this evening at the Beauty Bar, featuring no shortage of music to shake your booty to, thanks to DJs Ian Orth, Prince Klassen, and Omega Monster Patrol. Ian, you the man. You the man.

Here's a message for you: A Featherweight Burden "is back, bitches," in their own words. Yes, you can see them tonight at the Carousel Lounge, 1110 E. 52nd St., starting at around 9 p.m. Drink some for me, guys, and I'll wave at you from the station.

There are anniversaries to be celebrated everywhere this weekend, I tell you! Music store End of An Ear on South 1st St. is having a great 2-year anniversary party tomorrow with a solo set by Ralph White (I'm told he must be seen to be believed, kids), along with DJ Coolhands and Hobo D spinning tunes. Congratulations, End of An Ear! Here's to many more years for you.

The anniversary partying continues Saturday night for Room 710 with Pong, Canned Hamm, Spain Colored Orange, and the Invincible Czars.

Many more performances scheduled at Emo's anniversary festivities as well. I'm getting some Moonlight Towers on my show to promote their Emo's gig with Jerry's Kids and Meryll.

Lalaland is the headlining band tomorrow night on the Stubb's inside stage, with the Midgetmen and And You Were Always on the bill. The Beauty Bar is the place to catch AM Syndicate tomorrow, with DJ Mel providing the tunes before and after the gig.

On Sunday, ride out with the Last Sunday Knights at The Jackalope. Things kick off at 10 p.m. as the devious duo DJ Hucklebuck and the right Reverend Magnus spin some mighty fine music. Great bar, great tunes. That's the way to wrap up the weekend, friends.

But wait! There's more! On Tuesday, The Parlor on North Loop is the place for some great pizza, great beer and great music by Ringo Deathstarr, Baby Robots, and W-S Burn. Fantastico.

I'm bummed that I won't be able to catch all the fabulous goings-on the following weekend, but YOU should mark your calendar and get ready to check this stuff out! The wonderful and talented peeps of Yellow Tape Construction Company are presenting But, I Could Do That, featuring an original score by the talented Carri Palazzolo of Belaire and Fancy Feast. Many thanks to Jonathon Morgan for providing a CD of this music for me, which I can play on The Laurie Show tonight. Remember, kids: Look out for the dancing yellow hand of mystery. The show opens June 28 at the Off Center, 2211-A Hidalgo St. Performances are at 8 p.m. June 28-30, and at 2 p.m. July 1.

On Friday June 29, a fabulous line-up is scheduled for the spectacular Soundcheck Summer Showcase on Emo's outdoor stage. How can you resist, peeps? The Octopus Project, Murder By Death, Clap!Clap!, Peachcake, Ian Cooke, and Pilotdrift are all in on the party, with DJ Cody Haynes between sets. The first 100 people to arrive get the VIP treatment, courtesy of special passes that will allow you to indulge in free alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevs at the show. You know you'll get there early, kids. It's a deal.

Tonight I'm offering a preview of music from the wonderful forthcoming CD by Cue, Wedding Song, in honor of their CD release party on Friday June 29 at Emo's lounge. Horse + Donkey, Mothfight, and Adrienne the Anemone are on the bill. Some show dates follow for Cue in San Antonio, Houston, and Denton.

So much music, so little time to play it all, but I'll do my best! Catch the craziness tonight, if you dare: 11 p.m. to 3 in the frickin' morning, on KUT 90.5. Meanwhile, I haven't even begun to pack for the San Francisco trip. It'll be strange wearing a jacket in the summer.

And, in the words of the mighty RoboCop, thank you for your cooperation.
