Austinist Preview: Janeane Garofalo w/ Patton Oswalt and Chris Fairbanks @ Emo's

We saw Janeane Garofalo a few years ago in Houston -- she was wearing sweats and debating whether or not the Charlie's Angels was cinematically brilliant or the biggest piece of crap she'd ever seen. For the record, she was doing this on stage, and ultimately decided, based on Drew Barrymore's awkward dancing, that the movie was brilliant.

Garofalo makes the sort of oddball diatribes that your snarky best friend makes, but somehow, they're really funny. Probably because in between wry observations, she's not busy taking cheap shots at you. Or, maybe she is, but, they're actually funny. Regardless, Garofalo will be spreading her glass half full attitude this Sunday at Emo's along with Patton Oswalt and Chris Fairbanks.

Oswalt, who's been booed off the stage in both Pittsburgh and San Francisco, may have spent 9 years working on a sitcom, but he's anything but family friendly. He spends much of his stage time talking about porn and booze and ripping apart contemporary culture (which, apparently has more to it than porn and booze). You should go!

This contest is now closed. Thank you to everyone who entered.
