Even Summer Won't Stop Austin Fashion

  • Service Menswear moved, but not far: they're now behind By George in the Cissis Market shopping center (1400 South Congress), right next to Mars restaurant. We featured Service Menswear in our Spring Picks feature (see our model on the right), and we're excited to see how they're filling their larger space.

  • And speaking of boutiques, the other By George (the one across from Whole Foods on Lamar) is getting choice runway looks from Chloe and Miu Miu this summer for its new high-end designer section, which replaced the former men's clothing section this March. This decadent part of the boutique often leaves fashion-lovers breathless with its selection of couture lines, ranging from Marni to Marc Jacobs.

  • And for those of us who can't even afford a belt from By George, there's always Libertine's mass-market Target's GO International line launching in July. New York magazine describes the original line as Arty-punk but still sophisticated sportswear fashioned from vintage clothes and customized with silk-screening. Previous designers for Target's Go. International include Proenza Schouler, Luella, and Paul and Joe.
