Students at Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth picketed their school district headquarters yesterday, in protest of a decision to prevent seniors who'd failed the TAKS exam from participating in commencement exercises.

Something isn't quite right if a student has a 3.5 GPA and can't manage to pass a standardized test...
What's not quite right is that standardized tests are biased and aimed at measuring the intelligence of a certain class. Mainly middle to upper middle class white folks. What's not quite right is the TAKS test.
Yeah! I've had it with exams that only test middle- to upper-class math operations like multiplication and division.
who says you need to write coherent sentences and demonstrate basic math skills in this country to succeed anyway... It's not like half a billion kids in china are doing algebra and learning multiple languages by age 10... man who are we to expect any sort of standard achievment levels out of people these days? while we're at it.. i propose we do away with grades entirely. They unfairly discriminate against kids who come from familiar where the language spoken at home is not based on the Roman alphabet (that's your abc's for those of you that didn't pass your TAKS test).
Okay, then think about this. What if you came from a single parent family whose parent is illiterate and hooked on drugs? Then when you started school where most of your peers who came from these mid-to-upper class have already learned how to count, ABCs, and write your name, to name a few. You can't even hold a book right. So you are already behind probably 3 to 4 years, but in third grade still had to take and pass the same test that your peers had to. Meanwhile back at home you have no food, no running water and your mom has a new boyfriend who is a little too nice. Fuck the TAKS test.

The sign is grammatically incorrect, thus the humor in parading in front of a government run school protesting. It is probable that said parent was edumecated in one of these same schools.

This is an issue of being poor and having a dipshit for a mother, not an issue of being white, brown, purple, or green.
I think we should just exterminate people that should not be breeding and in some cases, their offspring.
