Im confused. I got the Taylor Mills Cd "Lulagoodbye" last week. WIlliam Mills' review is so off the mark it makes me wonder where it came from. I cant stop playing it! How does he not get the Tommy Shaw connection? . How is this cretin qualified to judge music? Could it be that he may have had some problems in the past wtith pretty girls? He made sure to mention Taylors beauty in an odd way for such a short review! So i did a little diggin and found out that our boy Billy is a failed musician who castigates REAL artists because of some lack of esteem, self or otherwize. I can only conclude that he had the CD on in the background , (if at all) in his moms double wide trailor while she administered her daily hand job reassuring him that it was better than attention from the "Dirty Girls"of the outside world. I can only picture this inbred cretin clutching one of his urine stained antique dolls as mommy trims his neck beard, letting him know that Taylor cant hurt him. Oh Billy, MIght I suggest you save your breath for your inflatable dates! No safe word needed with those HUH? Any way, Lllulagoodbye is a GREAT record and Taylor Mills is one of the greatest singers Ive ever heard. The production is superb. Check out the samples on the website and I dare you not to agree with me and then I dare you nt to buy it. Do it, youll love it

William Mills-

You don't get the Tommy Shaw connection with the Taylor Mills record? The drummer from Styx, Todd Sucherman--Taylor's husband produced the record. Do your job and read the bio, Jackass.

Lullagoodbye- 4out of 5 from The Daily Mirror, UK.
3 out of 5 Manchester Evening News

That covers a readership of 4 million or so.

Enjoy your career,

BL

Granted I'm partial because of my electronic roots in music, however one must not pass the BOYS NOIZE remix of Leslie Feist's "My Moon, My Men".

Anything but 60's French Pop, this electro remix transforms those mid-century carefree melodies into six minutes packed with edgy synths, a hard base line, and some how coaxes those lyrics to lose their inhibitions leaving the listener sexually charged and ready to hit repeat.

excellent reply. i agree. yes to more pop, and can i say overall maybe a little slower and more depressing than i had hoped for?

and may i mention charlotte gainsbourg-- serge's daughter, also a french pop singer (primarily actress), and a lovely woman who has a strange resemblance to leslie feist? maybe it's just the bangs. anyway, i thought the connection should be noted.

I think the album is quite good; it just sounds, quite a bit, like 1960s French pop music. Of course, I have a soft spot for 1960s French pop music (since it's brilliant and all). Given the general craze for mid century mod, I'm not surprised there's a bit of a mod-era musical aesthetic floating around as well. Gainsbourg is likely one of the most important pop composers of the 20th century, and French pop is heavily indebted to the sort of jazz work Simone did. But, I think this album comes out much heavier on the pop side of the equation -- regardless of who's being covered.

let us be *reminded* that Sea Lion Woman is actually a cover of Nina Simone's See Line Woman. this fact alone gives Miss Leslie Feist much more street cred and ups the album's rating (in my eyes, anyway).
