Austinist Salutes Guitar Heroes, Lions

The Lions have a pretty exciting summer lined up: they've been busy in the studio working on their full-length (and possible major label debut) and celebrating "Metal Heavy Lady" being picked up by Austinist's favorite pastime, Guitar Hero. Tonight at Emo's, they are playing what will no doubt be a raucous, sweat-stained show with Red Fang, and request your presence.
In case you're not familiar, Lions play the kind of music they look like they'd play (only confusing part is the guy with the mustache who, on certain days, looks like he might also open for the Allman Brothers Band): loud, mean metal and drone that walks the line between the more psychedelic rock of bands like Fu Manchu and classic metal like Black Sabbath.
Though most songs fall into one of three categories lyrically (sex, drugs, firearms), their sound is liable to fall just about anywhere ... as long as its loud.
We'd love you to experience the mayhem first-hand. Fill out the form for a pair of tickets to tonight's show (earplugs not included, sissy):
Congrats, Kelly!
