i'm confusing anderson with the alternative learning center. I swear I saw a sign that said "Anderson" on it... didn't grow up here :)

Anderson High in east austin is a common set. I was under the impression that was the main site of classroom and hallway interiors (its very old school inside, as you would expect a run down west texas high school would look).

I was on set in December during last season's film wrapup. Crew arrives at about 8 am, sets up, shoots and tears down around 6. You wouldn't know they'd been there except the trophy cases in the school are full of Dillon High memorabilia.

They frequently use the Millenium Complex in East Austin as "Base Camp" when shooting in that area. The Stadium is in Del Valle. Other locations have been a cow pasture near ABI ("Mud Bowl"), a hunter's cabin near Llano, and Threadgills. Look for the Yellow signs with "NEPI" when driving around town. Those are used to tell cast, crew and extras where to go.

Of course, the best way is to be an extra. There will be calls for extras starting soon in the usual casting sites on the internet. They treat extras extraordinarly well, and feed you very well. The breakfast buffet had smoked salmon with capers, chive, copped red onions, and cream cheese along with the usual breakfast items. And, they will pay you for 8 hours work, even if you actually work only 1 or 2 hours. And they pay more than anything Beth Sepko handles.

Oh yeah, thats what I meant, but by set I meant which school they used (which you answered, thanks :)!) and I also heard about a church where they have trailers and what not in the parking lot and I was wondering if anyone knew were that was. And I recognized the Broken Spoke which was neat. That is helpful info though...I also hear they frequent Doc's alot.

Lily - They use real locations instead of sets. I have recognized Reagan High School, the Dairy Queen on Manor Rd, EZ's, and Brackenridge Hospital. Part of the reason I enjoy the show is because I like to figure out where each location is. I think they may use a set sometimes at Austin Film Studios, but I wouldn't swear on it.
