What do Elvis, a mariachi band, and Santa Claus have in common?

Absolutely nothing, but they're all part of a Halloween-style flash mob being planned for this Saturday, May 5th, in Georgetown.

Equal parts bizarre spectacle and fodder for a film to be submitted to AFF next year, the Cinco de Mayo flash mob will take place at a youth championship soccer game. Thus far, they've already convinced a pair of unicyclists, "some" local media, and a mariachi band to come. They're hoping to get at least 200 people to show up.

"A few will be arriving via limousine," reads the Craigslist event posting. "We still need an Elvis, a Santa Claus, superheroes, and Disney-like characters, though it is okay to just come as you are."

Flash mobs are old news, but given the popularity of last year's pillow fight at Auditorium Shores, we suspect at least a handful of you might want to participate.

Dear kids: it's not a flash mob if you tell the media ahead of time. Jeez.

You should be spending your time preparing for the No Pants Day festivities instead. (nopantsday.com)
