Kids, there's been some confusion in regards to The Laurie Show on KUT 90.5. My usual gig is from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Fridays, but recently, I've either been off duty or sitting in for Jeff McCord on Left of the Dial. I promise I will return to my usual time very soon, but this week, I have Left of the Dial duties again, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and I'll be off again the Friday after this one. Please hang in there, and I appreciate the emails and support from peeps asking where I've been. Thank you very much!

And now, onward to assorted musical adventures! These are the gigs in our fair city that'll be inspiring me on the airwaves tonight.

New CDs here, there and everywhere: Lomita will have their CD release party tonight at the Beauty Bar with another great band, Tammany Hall Machine. Thanks to Lomita for getting KUT copies of their latest album, Downtown Mystic.

Clap!Clap! is also having their CD release party tonight for their latest full-length, You Love This!, on Emo's outside stage. Joining the festivities will be Haunting Oboe Music, The Always Ready, and Crash Gallery, with DJ sets provided in between by the always fabulous Team Fabrication. If you happen to live in San Marcos, make plans to join Clap!Clap! at Lucy's on the square tomorrow night for a CD release show with This Will Destroy You, Oceanus, and Crocodile.

Birthday celebrations are also on the horizon! The lovely Rosa Madriz of Green Potato Ventures is having her very special birthday rock show tomorrow at the Mohawk, featuring an impressive list of some of her favorite local bands: The Lemurs, Loxsly, White Denim, Low Line Caller, Golden Bear, and Martin Crane. Remember, Rosa: Beer. Better than birthday cake.

Sorry to cut this short, ladies and gentlemen, but I must flee like a fly. Remember to catch me this evening on Left of the Dial, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Then show some love to Mr. Chris Hillen, graciously sitting in for me once again on The Laurie Show, 11 p.m. to 3 in the frickin' morning. Keep it set on the car stereo, KUT 90.5 FM, while you're cruising to the gigs tonight. And, in the wise words of our pal RoboCop, thank you for your cooperation.
