Austin's Rock N Romp is a monthly concert series dedicated to getting parents out of the house, offering good local music for parents, kids and those just under the legal bar age a chance to rock out, bounce in a moonwalk, and relax. Recently profiled on the Today Show, in Newsweek and Rare magazines, as well as featured in the Statesman, RNR is quickly becoming the go-to solution for adults and children all over Austin for cheap, fun rock n roll on the weekend.
Come Saturday you’re not really going to take your kids to Eeyore’s (Birthday at Pease Park). So why not try and add a little rock n’roll at the Lone Star School of Music to your weekend schedule. Located at 2824 Real St., the institution educates and nurtures young ‘uns in a variety of musical genres, in group or private settings. Austin Rock N Romp hosts another quality gig in the afternoon there with White Denim supplying some quirky pop-rock (can’t use “post-punk” with kids, can we yet?) infused with energy and eccentricity alike. Add to that grandiose keyboard accentuated pop from Loxsly worthy of furnishing any dance floor, and surely everyone will sleep tight at night. As Weezer once stated on a t-shirt, if it’s too loud, turn it down.
This weekend's show will include a moonwalk, playscape, Shipley's donuts and kolaches as well as beverages and yes, rock n roll.
