Really? If having shitty "core ideals" was the problem, we'd have to round up every Che poster havin' ignorant college pseudo-hippie and put them against the wall. Bush (41 & 43), Pelosi, Clinton (H.R. & W.J.), etc. aren't that much different from Hitler, Pinochet, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, etc. in their "core ideals". It's the execution that makes the latter list a bunch of shitty human beings, not the little flag pin on their lapels.

There are no connotations. It's an ideology. The core ideals are the same whether the participants wear swastikas or little American flag lapel pins.

Comparing Bush to Pinochet, Hitler or Stalin shows not only ignorance, but the self centered nature of modern day westerners. It really does blow my mind how westerners, and Americans especially, can equate their experiences with those that have truly suffered under oppressive regimes.
