Downtown Launch Party Postponed to Wednesday Evening

Tonight's eagerly anticipated launch party for KLRU-TV's Downtown has been rescheduled to tomorrow night, due to the heavy thunderstorms and flash floods that are expected to slam Central Texas. "Rain, hail and thunderstorms don't make for a good party when it's being held at a power plant," as someone our awesome friend aptly put it.

The original lineup will remain intact, with featured guests from past episodes of the Emmy Award-winning series performing throughout the party, including Austin’s Slam Poets (episode #302), psychedelic artist Jim Franklin (episode #306), Tosca String Quartet (episode #305), the Professional Firefighters Association (episode #303), historians of Congress Avenue (episode #306), and ProArts Collective performance of Funny House of a Negro (episode #305).

Admission to this party is absolutely free; pick up your tickets in advance at participating retail shops, or just show up with a canned good to help out the good folks of Caritas. Either way gets you in!

question: the klru site says you *do* need a ticket.

but you say you only need a canned good.

if you could clarify...

It's ok without a ticket - just bring a can of food for Caritas.

Julie's right - tickets were all given out for last night's postponed event. Come tonight with a can of food for Caritas. If we reach our capacity, understand we may have to limit the crowd.
