Kill 'Em All, Let Tom DeLay Sort 'Em Out
Despite being removed from office, Tom DeLay is up to his old tricks: comparing Democrats to Nazis; comparing himself to the Duke students falsely accused of rape; proclaiming that if the liberals can take down Don Imus, the conservatives can get Rosie O’Donnell off the air; and now this, the most egregious of his statements.
In what is one of the most disturbing things we have heard in the wake of the shootings at Virginia Tech, former House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay from Sugarland went on Charlie Rose’s PBS show and, in a contentious interview, admitted that there was no doubt in his mind that the massacres at Virginia Tech could have been curtailed had there been fewer restrictions on guns in Virginia. Specifically, he stated that the incident could have been stopped if they'd removed the ban on guns on VT’s campus and passed a concealed weapons law, allowing students to take guns to class. We can not find video on the internets of this quite yet, but Rose almost fell out of his chair, while DeLay maniacally glared at him and insisted that the research and numbers supported him. Rose reiterated the point by asking him if he thought that kids should have had guns on them in class and started shooting back. Absolutely, DeLay said.
Yee haw!
(If you find video of this disgusting interview before we do, feel free to send it to us or put it in the comments. Hope we didn't ruin your weekend.)
