You know who Eugene O'Neill is, right? One of America's best and most famous playwrights, he penned such oft-taught classics as Desire Under the Elms, The Iceman Cometh, and Long Day's Journey Into Night. Uh, pretty depressing stuff. But did you know that O'Neill also wrote a comedy? One comedy? A turn-of-the-century comedy, no less? (Aren't those the best?) It is Ah, Wilderness!, and the players over at St. Ed's have it running right now, with only one weekend of performances remaining.
You can't read about Ah, Wilderness! without running into the word nostalgia. It's the tale of a bygone era when boys and girls didn't hold hands until the 20th date, and the most shameful thing the high school hero and valedictorian could do was...go out and get snockered. The scandal! The story focuses on a nice boy named Richard Miller and how he struggles to become a nice young man during the summer of 1906.
It's a sweet little play from a master playwright, and we think you're sure to enjoy it. So sure, in fact, that, courtesy of St. Ed's, we're offering two pair of free tickets for tomorrow night's performance, and another two pair for Thursday night's performance. So crack your knuckes (even tho' that's a terrible habit!) and enter your info below for a chance to score. Tickets. Score a pair of tickets.
