aGLIFF Welcomes Spring With the 2nd Annual BLOOM

As the oldest and biggest GLBT film fest in the Southwest, the Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival (aGLIFF) has been responsible for screening hundreds of independent films, many which would have otherwise stood little chance of seeing the light of day in Central Texas.

As we've mentioned in the past, aGLIFF does much more than the annual fall fest; throughout the year, they sponsor and host a variety of one-off screenings, community outreach/education projects, and filmmaking workshops for aspiring GLBT directors. But the cost of funding these programs, many of which are offered for free or at a minimal cost, the nonprofit needs help from the community--this is where BLOOM comes in.

An annual spring event at East Austin's delightfully retro-chic nursery, Big Red Sun, BLOOM is equal parts homecoming for the new season and fashionable fundraiser. The upscale fĂȘte offers catered spreads, libations, and downtempo DJ tunes, plus a special VIP Lounge for event sponsors and Producer-level aGLIFF members and above. You've also the chance to win a sexy little urban speeder; raffle tickets for a 2007 Mini Cooper go for $20.

Tickets to BLOOM will be available at the door.
