Director of Austin Convention Center Dismissed

acccwall.jpg
City Manager Toby Futrell sent out notice this morning that the director of the city's convention center department, Bob Hodge, has been fired for violating city policy. It is unknown at this time exactly which city policy he violated, but it seems unrelated to the Center's rumored accounting issues.

Hymie Gonzales (currently assistant director) will take over as interim director until a new director can be found. Assistant City Manager Rudy Garza will talk to all the Center employees, guiding them through the leadership transition, as well as becoming more involved in the business and policy aspects of the department.

Kate Alexander is a wicked good reporter. Elizabeth S. is a wicked good blogger

is it just me, or is it sad that the best picture of the ACC is one from a blogger from CA? maybe not, it's just odd.

I'm pretty sure that tile work is from the Convention Center garage on the 5th street side, not the actual Convention Center.

Whatever the case. It is related to the convention center and it's a damn fine image.
