The Laurie Show

Kids, it's true: I'm taking the night off from The Laurie Show tonight. I think many of my colleagues at KUT 90.5 are also taking time off, since we're now finished with the 2007 Spring Pledge Drive. I'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who made a contribution. We went over our goal because of your generosity! Thank you!
The wonderful Chris Hillen will be sitting in for me, so please give a listen and enjoy! He always plays fantastic stuff.
I do have a couple of recommendations for you this evening: First, I'm looking forward to the return of the ultra-groovy Fuzz Club at Beerland tonight! The lovely DJ Sue spins the greatest hip-shakin' '60s tunes that keep you dancing through the night. There'll be live groovy music as well by what is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands, The Carrots, and an all-star line up of sorts in the form of The Dandy Lyons. Members of The Ugly Beats, Young Heart Attack, Poison 13 and The Plimsouls will take over the stage and will, no doubt, bring the house down. Far out, man.
There is also the ultra-fabulous Couture De Amor Fashion Show tonight at the Parish, dahling! Music and fashion are always a fantastic combination, as is proven by the line-up on the show bill: Clap!Clap!, Golden Bear, Haunting Oboe Music, and The Valentines. The featured fashionistas include Loves, Mariessa; Stiletto, by Knoxy; Jess B; and Jewelry by Amy Cline. Great things to hear and wear, lovey. Check it out. Heart shapes in my eyes...
So, it's a night off for me, but like I said, give Chris your support: 11 p.m. to 3 in the frickin' morning on KUT 90.5. Tell him I sent you. And of course, as RoboCop would say, thank you for your cooperation.
