In his latest release, Alternadad, Neal Pollack chronicles his experiences as a father and family-man in the early 21st-century. Pollack proves in his fourth bound collection of pages that it is indeed an exciting time to be alive and parenting. Please be sure to read Austinist's exquisite review of Alternadad, an instant American classic.
Having said that, we think it's important to let you know that Neal Pollack is coming to Austin. We won't tell you where Neal's staying or when he plans to be eating in public, but we will tell you where to find him when he's doing what he does best: entertaining audiences and promoting new hardcover books. Whether you enjoy the traditional author reading followed by a signing or a non-traditional reading with righteous jams and dancing wee-ones, Neal Pollack has got the proper public appearance for you.
Here is your Austinist guide to Neal Pollack activities during the masterful author's prolonged visit to our fair city:
On Thursday, March 8th at 7pm, Neal will be making a triumphant return to BookPeople, sans dunktank, to read a passage or two, field audience questions, and sign copies of Alternadad. Bookstore scene too stuffy for you? Do you need a family-oriented activity to fill the meaningless void that is Sunday afternoon? If you answered yes to either question, head to The Mohawk on Sunday, March 11 from 12noon to 4pm for Rock & Romp SXSW. The author will be joined by Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater and uber-rockers Black Before Red. It promises to be a great time for Alternadads and Alternamoms as well as the less cool Normadads and Normamoms, oh, and the children too. We mustn't forget the children. Whether due to disaster or gross negligence you are unable to attend either of these events, wax up those badges or passes or whatever and check Neal out at SXSW Interactive on Monday, March 12th at 3:30pm. He'll be participating in a panel discussion with Rebecca Woolf, Girl's Gone Child.
If you are undecided about attending any of these events we implore you to revel in the entertaining hilarity of Neal's blog or check out this footage -on the right- of the actual Neal Pollack reading live at Mo Pitkins in New York City. We know you'll do what's best.

Was that guy in Gal's Panic?
Ah, no. I was thinking of Jerm Pollet who does the whatnot now that I never go see.
