ME Television and the Austin Music Foundation continue to promote the best of the city’s promising up-and-coming acts at Antone’s on Thursdays. After the success of the first Emerging Artists Series, the time is ripe for the latest edition. The good times rock n’ tonk of The Jungle Rockers (featured today in The Daily Texan) along with prog-metal from Stasis promises another night of diverse music. Add to that one of our fast emerging favorites, Pink Nasty, who occupies the middle spot, and will surely provide a rendition of “Thirsty Thursday” to encourage much libation. The first hundred people through the door will have a chance to sample free food courtesy of Ms. B’s Creole Restaurant. Plus cake for AMF’s 5th birthday.
The show starts at 7 sharp and is due to end by 10 since ME will soldier on through the evening to film the latest in its ME Live Series. ME Live has recently showcased Brothers And Sisters and The Lemurs at its 7pm time-slot, and tonight, Alpha Rev will join that roster. The band will be performing their poignant indie-rock in support of a new self-titled album, available for purchase at the show no doubt. Word out on the street (probably 4th) is that Johnny Goudie might cameo as well. Usual appearances by the Chrontourage and Soundcheck Magazine are also anticipated. Tickets via Front Gate.
