Paramount Screens Film About Paramount

Tonight, Austin’s Paramount Theater will celebrate, er, itself by hosting a free screening of ME Television’s Paramount Documentary, a one-hour exploration of the historic theater’s nearly one hundred year history. The documentary covers all eras of the theatre's existence, from its earliest days as a vaudeville house to its current status as one of Austin's favorite places to see movies, concerts and lectures.

The documentary is part of ME's Texas Legends series - a television show "devoted to the musicians, artists, organizations and venues that have exceeded fame and critical acclaim and have arrived at the status of Legend". For those of you who don’t have cable (like us), ME Television (whose offices are located at the renovated location of another well-known Austin theater) is a regional cable station that showcases Austin-area artists.

Oh, and there'll be free popcorn and soda for all attendees. And though we'd prefer free Reese's Pieces and Shiner, that's still pretty awesome.
