If you can relate to any of the following scenarios, we have an answer for you:
1. You haven't eaten anything green for weeks. You've completely exhausted your extensive ramen noodle cooking skills. You're about to enter into a period of extreme busy-ness (finals, a crazy week at work, etc.).
2. You want to have a party. You even want to feed your guests. But you really, really don't want to actually have to cook anything.
3. You like delicious food, but you hate cooking (or suck at it).
Alright! Good. Here's what you do: pay a little virtual visit to the Casserole Queens. They'll hook you up right nice. Local fabulosos Sandy Pollock and Crystal Oakes have teamed up to create one fantastic little business. You provide hungry people, they'll do the rest. What we're talking about here is delicious, lovingly made food delivered to your door. You can buy small or large casseroles - feed yourself or feed the masses. One thing is for sure: it's cheaper than the prepared food section at Whole Foods and just as good!
We lied our way into a dinner party that featured one of these puppies the other night and we were not disappointed. Until the host figured out she didn't know us, that is. But we'd had plenty of casserole by then.

Great idea-- it was thought of a long time ago by www.thesouppeddler.com. Looks like they completely stole his concept and website! I won't be supporting these "queens".
Dang, who knew the Soup Peddler had such lame fans? Chill out and try the casseroles before you rant about people stealing the idea for scheduled delivery of prepared foods. Maybe they've got a different style of food? Is more choice bad? I've been gone from Austin for awhile, but it sure has changed alright: Las Manitas is moving, the first comment on a local indie business review is an attack and I even hear the Soup Peddler has a fleet of delivery trucks. This is progress!?
yeah jeez. plus, i'm not really seeing how they stole his web site. it's pretty different. different type of food... different looking web site... i mean, do you really think he has forever-control of all food delivery in austin?
Sounds delicious! I love me some casseroles...
And #1 Soup Peddler Fan: it's okay to love soup AND casseroles, maybe even both at the same time. Really. No one will judge you if you do.
Austin, you can have your soup and eat casserole too! I highly recommend the baked ziti, yum!
I think it is wonderful that Austin has a community that encourages and sustains folks who love to make food, and who want to make a living doing what they love. I hope that tomorrow the austinist features another site called "the Captain of Quiche" or "the Sausage Pimps" or or something like that. The more the merrier!
Oh brother, #1 Soup Peddler Fan. How do you steal the idea of food delivery? Settle down.
The casserole queens are a delightful pair of entreepreneurs and they really seem to have their shit together... we happen to live in a free enterprise society, it's all good... people like the queens and le marseillais have forced us to work harder and be more creative, it's a win-win for the Austin foodies.
yay! soup peddler represent!!
