SXSW 2007 Band List Update: As The Delay Grows Eternal, We Bring You Over 500 Acts Playing The Fest

sxsw_green_display.jpg

After taking last week off because we were sure SXSW would release their master plan, we now return as there seems to be no end in sight to the band list embargo. Many indie labels and some marquee acts have simply announced their appearances, as bands attempt to book routing shows in Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, or elsewhere to make their long drives worthwhile. The lack of info has started to get the press gossiping, as recent pieces by MTV News, Pitchfork, and the Austin Chronicle can attest.

Before we get to the list, we'd like to again credit Done Waiting's SXSW blog for their timely info, along with additional tips from Brooklyn Vegan, Pitchfork, Showlist Austin, +1, and Hyperactive Music Magazine. Now, 503 bands await your perusal, including The Good, The Bad, and The Queen, Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Alexi Murdoch, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Steve Earle.

Jake Brennan will be back this year. He's confirmed via his myspace page to be playing the yep Roc showcase.

My understanding is that Dengue Fever will be back again this year, as well.

the list is missing Tokyo Police Club, 31Knots, Yellow Fever, The Octopus Project, and Oh No! Oh My!

all claim to be playing on myspace.

I have it on very good authority that Willy Holt Jr. out of the UK will be making his second SXSW appearance this year

its Hadouken! and ¡Forward, Russia! and The KBC

There's also all these Small Stone Records bands (from www.smallstone.com):

Muddy Nasty River, Iota, Mos Generator, Hackman, Porn, The Glasspack, Slot, The Brought Low, Dixie Witch, Roadsaw

Sasquatch is also part of their troop, but they made this list above.

As badly as I want it to be true, I don't think Mastodon is coming to SXSW. According to their website, March will have them touring Merrie Olde England and Australia. Still lots of great bands coming, though!

AutoVaughn will be there.

Not sure how many people know who they are, though.

Interpol canceled. :(
