Austinist Show Preview: Emerging Artists Series at Antone's

ME Television and the Austin Music Foundation have been doing their fair share in our city to promote local talent and improve artist networks. The former has brought in the likes of Pink Nasty and Sparrow House for their weekly Almost Late Show, while the latter has recently initiated a twice-a-month mixer at the Belmont. Tonight, they combine to bring us the Emerging Artists Series.
A $5 cover (with partial proceeds going to AMF) allows one to witness three exceptional acts at Antone’s. The evening kicks off with folk-country psychedelia from the Channel. Their double-disc, Tales From the Two Hill Heart / Sibylline Machine has been garnering solid reviews, while the Austin Chronicle recently took time to delve deeper into their label, C-Side Records. Tacks, the Boy Disaster, fresh on the heels of their Oh, Beatrice EP present a wide variety of piano pop next, while Meagan Tubb wraps up the early-ish night with her beautiful, haunting voice.
