All right, kids. This evening is going to be a tad different for yours truly. Instead of the usual Laurie Show time, from 11 p.m. until 3 a.m., I’m sitting in for Jeff McCord on his Friday night shindig, Left Of the Dial. Thanks to Jeff for letting me take the helm. Hopefully I won’t terrify too many of his listeners, but I intend to keep it left of the dial, where it should be, you dig?
Special thanks are in order to all the local bands and performers who dropped off CDs for me at the KUT office: The Black, Just Guns, Darling New Neighbors, Lomita, Prayer For Animals, Wiretree, Sleep Good, Mice and Rifles, and a handy dandy double CD surprise, Sunset and Silence!, from Sound Team’s Bill Baird. Thank you, Bill!
Tonight is going to be a bit tighter, because I’ll have one hour less to squeeze in all this great music, but I’m working on my playlist at this very moment. I’ll do my best to also include a lively variety of artists who are playing this evening around town, including Tammany Hall Machine for their Amateur Saw CD release at Emo’s, Sons of Hercules rocking the Flamingo Cantina at the Misprint Magazine rock show, Brothers and Sisters at the Continental Club, Knife In the Water at the Parish, and Tacks, the Boy Disaster at Progress Coffee.
Jam packed with musical goodness, I tell you. Keep it tuned this evening to KUT 90.5, and listen for me on Left Of the Dial, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight. I’ll return to the regular Laurie Show time slot next week, Friday from 11 p.m. to 3 in the bloody morning. Yee haw!
Until then, remember what RoboCop says: Thank you for your cooperation.

I was listening, you did a good show! Great selection of music. I didn't realize you were an Austinist blogger.
