Screen Door's Best Short Films of 2006

screen-door_1-26-07.jpgTonight, Screen Door Film and the Austin Museum of Art present Screen Door's Best Short Films of 2006. The winners were chosen by audience vote from among the 41 shorts presented by Screen Door Film throughout the past year.

All of the eight films being screened tonight are national or international award-winners (including awards from film festivals like Palm Springs, SXSW, Sundance, Melbourne, Tinklai, Palm Springs, Tribeca, IndieWire and more) and three of the winners were made by Austinites.

We're especially excited to see Stephen Stephanian's Junior! The Wendy’s Guy, a film that we desperately wanted to see at SXSW last year, but couldn't quite make it to.

The ultra-cheap $5 admission to tonight's event also gets you access to the AMOA's current exhibition Radical NY!.

Anybody else who wants to check out Junior! The Wendy's Guy can view it for free -- in its entirety -- at the movie's Web site. I forget the URL, but I'm sure a Google search will turn it up right away.

Thanks for the info! I used to work at the Texas Union, and The Wendy's Guy was like a big bright happy star in the middle of a sluggish morning.
