
An man collapsed in a 6th Street bar and later died in a nearby hospital early Sunday morning, according to the Austin Police Department.
Officers were investigating a disturbance at The Co-Op Bar, at 6th and Nueces, and talking to individuals involved when one of the men "passed out." After begin rushed to the hospital, the man--who remains anonymous pending notification of family members--was pronounced dead. Authorities are awaiting autopsy results before discussing the cause of death.
The deceased is described as a "white male, 20's years of age." Anyone with information about the man or the incident are asked to call CrimeStoppers at 512-472-8477.

according to another newscast i saw on this story, the guy was actually a bouncer at the co-op who was trying to bounce some people out after starting a fight and a girl hit him on the back of the head with a bottle--while he was describing the incident to the cops he collapsed.
this is extremely frightening especially knowing many friends who work places downtown (ie emo's, ect) its hard to imagine that just doing your job could get you killed.
