Unsubstantiated Rumor Patrol

We've been keeping our ear to the street to bring you the following unsubstantiated restaurant closing rumors.

Nau's West Campus: Their burgers and chocolate shakes kept us fed in school. Not the best burgers in town, but they'll always have a place on our heart.

Rumored Reason for Demise: Condos.
Night Hawk Frisco Shop: Another burger that invokes fond memories. Their chili is great added to almost anything on the menu. The last of the Night Hawks has been on Burnet road for over 50 years.

Rumored Reason for Demise: Walgreens finally got the property.
Fox and Hound: Hooray! The only one we hope is actually true. We won't get on that soapbox again today, but we sure could use a Waterloo burger and beer on the roof deck.

Rumored Reason for Demise: Lagging sales finally caught up with them.

Yes, just like all of the other NH's did so well after Mr. Akin died. Hopefully Lawrence Baker, if he still owns it, can make it happen. Though it would be weird to have it be somewhere else.

Fear not for the Night Hawk! One of the local news holes ran a piece on this a while back. The management actually seemed excited about the prospect of being bought out, since they'd long since outgrown that location. They seemed beyond optimistic that they'd reopen in another larger, more accommodating spot in the same neighborhood.

I am glad to hear the Fox and Hound is finally getting what they should have gotten a long time ago. Last time I was there it took them 40 min to wait on my party of 3, was there for lunch and only had an hour, and we had to get up and leave. They didn't bring our food much less our drinks we ordered. We all went back to work hungry.

I really hoped the Frisco's not closing. I only discovered it last year, but I love that place. Their chopped steaks are awesome. And they've got such a history.
