Breaking: Sinus Show Calls it Quits

The rumors, it turns out, are true: the Sinus Show, Austin's beloved institution of comedy paired with really cheesy films, is calling it quits after six extraordinary years. Citing personal issues, the trio will perform their last shows--Diehard, ironically--tonight and tomorrow evening at the Drafthouse Downtown. In more bad news, all remaining performances are already sold out.
From the Sinus Show guys:
"After six incredibly fun years the Sinus Show is performing its last shows at the Alamo Theater this weekend. We are sad to see it end, but we are also proud of the run we've had. Six years of bad movies, unrestrained jokes and partial male nudity. We've loved being a part of the Alamo and a part of Austin. We understand there's plenty of questions, but for now we'd rather simply say thanks for all the people who come and laughed with us."
Thanks Austin.

The Sinus Show
Lucky for you, there's a bright light at the end of this particular tunnel, and it turns out it's not too far away: a new group, dubbed Master Pancake Theatre, will make its debut in February right after Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Fest. Headed by Sinus vet John Erler and Joe Parsons--who's been filling in for Jerm Pollet in Sinus performances for the past several months--Master Pancake Theatre will feature a similar selection of groan-worthy flicks skewered by John, Joe, and a "rotating gang of Austin comedians, national celebrities and local personalities." Their first selection is a "lean and mean 90-minute 'pancake'" cut of Titanic, an all too appropriate selection for Valentine's month.
