Announcement: Open Call for Writers

Austinist is recruiting! We're looking for a small handful of new staffers who can commit to two or three short posts a week in one of the following sections:

• Film (independent or mainstream)
  
• Local and State News
  
• Politics
  
• Fashion
  
• Food
  
• Gay & Lesbian Matters (various, sundry)

If you're interested, please send us a brief email with the following:

• Your name
• A short bio, in four sentences or less
• Section you're interested in
• A brief writing sample (200 words or less), written about something fairly recent in your desired section.

We're also looking for freelance photographers who'd like to shoot live shows, interviews, and more. Please include any and all of the above in the body of an email (not as an attachment) and send it over to write AT austinist.com. We'll be accepting applications until Wednesday, January 17th.
