Unrelated to Bird Scare, Fast Food Restaurant To Give Out Thousands of Dollars in Free "Chicken"

When Austin's newest Chick-fil-A opens its doors this Thursday, it's planning on handing out $26,000 in free food to the first hundred adults eagerly salivating in line.

"We have given away more than $4.2 million in free Chick-fil-A food since we launched the 'First 100 Fans' promotion in 2003 to celebrate each grand opening," boasted Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy, the Willy Wonka of breaded poultry. "It's our way of thanking our raving fans who have supported Chick-fil-A and who continue to show their devotion by camping out in all kinds of weather conditions year-round, all across the country."

Representatives of the Atlanta-based fast food chain anticipate said "raving fans" camping out at the new Ben White location as early as 24 hours before the official opening, at 6:30am on Thursday.

"...the Willy Wonka of breaded poultry."

I damn near choked on my deep-fried bird flesh. Good one, AYC.

    Disgusting.

And that goes for the food, too.

Their marketing team deserves to be skinned & filleted alive.

Just stay away from the nuggets.

From Wikipedia (they're ALWAYS right), this is a marketing scheme done at every Chick-fil-a opening. The first 100 people get coupons good for 1 combo meal every week for the next year.

$26,000 worth of food to the first hundred people??? That's a lot of Chick-fil-A. $260 worth of nuggets for one person!??

  • Kareem of Pgraph

$26,000 in food for 100 people? That's $260 worth of chicken per person.

Why don't they do something like donate $26,000 worth of food to the ARCH?

  • mmmm, I loves me some chick-fil-a. I don't think any of their menu items look like the chicken in that photo, however.
