Jubby, you raise a good point charities and social support programs and non-profits are much better uses of public dollars than using them to fund a profit making *industry*. I'm all for funding the arts and indy projects, but large studios make big $$$ and I don't see any reason why they need a hand out when as you point out there are plenty of other worthy causes. On the other hand, if the city incentives are used as an investment and the city gets a return of the ticket sales, then that makes sense. Otherwise, feh.

No, it's not. Tarantino directed 50% of this 3 hour double feature. If he's simply producing, they usually say something like "Quentin Tarantino Presents..."

DEAR EDWARD, I THINK YOU SHOULD GIVE PART OF YOUR PAYCHECK TO AUSTIN. THERE ARE LOTS OF REASONS THAT A PERSON LIKE YOU SHOULD INVEST BACK IN AUSTIN.L FOR INSTANCE, PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAVE NOTHING BUT A CARDBOARD BOX NEED YOUR SUPPORT. COATS FOR KIDS CAN ALWAYS USE NEW COATS. THE ELDERLY ALWAYS NEED FANS IN THE SUMMER AND BLANKETS IN THE WINTER. WHY SHOULD CATS LIKE ROBERT AND QUINTEN GIVE PART OF THEIR PAYCHECK WHEN YOU DONT?

Looks awesome! We should all get a portion of the $$$ this flick is going to generate as everyone in Austin subsidized it. Seriously, if Quentin and Robert like Austin so much, it'd be nice to see them reinvesting *their* money into improving the studios around town rather than begging for hand outs from the city and implicitly threatening to shoot elsewhere. With all the $$$ films like this generate why, exactly, do they need our tax/bond dollars?
