Why do the organizers of sxsw care so much about party poaching? They are making enough money with the rate they charge for passes.... People having parties are not allowed to even put sxsw on a flyer without the threat of being sued.....What a joke!! A majority of bands that end up playing here think it is not worth it in the end. They end up playing for record company people who could care less about the bands they are watching. A singer from a well known group told me last year sxsw is like playing in front of a bunch of penguins.

It's also worth noting that the Chronicle is reporting that SXSW is intentionally holding back the big master band list for a couple of weeks due to rampant day-party "poaching" last year. Personally, I doubt it will make a big difference.
