The only downside of Emo's Free Week is that you have to decide which shows to attend. Some ambitious folks will move between the three venues and check out bits of several shows, but that requires, well, moving, and we're not into that. We'd rather grab five drinks from the bar, stake out a spot in front of the stage and spend all our available energy hollering "raaawwwkkk and roollllll" until we either pass out or are ejected by security. Or both.
This Saturday we're setting up camp in front of Emo's inside stage where Austin 5-piece Zykos will be throwing down their wickedly awesome brand of southern indie rock, alongside similarly awesome country rockers Brothers & Sisters. Both bands are fantastic live acts, and we do not expect to walk away disappointed.
Austin's own The Crack Pipes (who sound like they'd be a punk band, but definitely aren't) and Dallas soul rock quartet The Strange Boys round out the bill.
