Unlock Austin offers readers tools to monitor their favorite band's shows, and in turn recommends music based on your preferences. Created to open new avenues for fans and musicians alike, the site promotes networking while allowing anyone to write frank and honest reviews. Unlock Austin kicks off true to form in January with a number of interesting projects. Besides hosting their upcoming “Lose Your Resolution Party” featuring IV Thieves, White Ghost Shivers, and Seth Walker on the 13th, Unlock has also created exciting initiatives for each month of the year.

January sees the advent of the Red River Pass. A one-time fee of $20 allows free admission to The Mohawk, Emo’s Lounge, and Beerland all month long. Drink specials at Club deVille are also included.

The first of many such projects, the Red River Pass offers an abundance of local talent on display this month. With your personal card, you too, can see for free, the likes of the Faceless Werewolves, Midori Umi or For Those Who Know. Perennial Austin favorites like The Flametrick Subs and up-and-coming acts such as Crawling With Kings are a part of the plan as well.
