Let's face it, Epiphany's coming up and your tree is looking wimpy. The dead needles are falling crisp and sharp on your carpet. It's time to let go.
The City of Austin is accepting trees up through January 12 at various drop-off locations. If you are currently a Pay-as-you-throw customer, you can leave your tree on the curb for pickup with your trash, but the city reminds you that this can be a fire hazard the longer you wait to put your tree out.
The city will use all the Christmas trees to create mulch, which is freely available to the public later this month. Visit this page for more information, or look beneath the jump for drop-off locations and times.
