Playboy Loves Emo's

Emo's has made it onto Playboy.com's A-List of America's Ten Best Rock Clubs, chosen from among thousands of venues by musicians, music journalists and industry insiders.
"One of the main venues for the annual South By Southwest booze-and-music bacchanal in the spring, Emo's remains at the center of this bohemian college town's vibrant music scene all year round," reads the gushing post, further clarifying that "the club's name is no indication of the genre of music you'll hear inside, since everyone from the latest indie darlings to rock en espaƱol get stage time."
Local acts Trail of Dead, The Black Angels, and Spoon were listed as "famous alumni," while the magazine also recommends checking out Pink Nasty, Peter and the Wolf, and Voxtrot.
Others in the top spots include New York's Cake Shop and Mercury Lounge, Chicago's Empty Bottle, DC's Black Cat, and San Francisco's 12 Galaxies. Venues selected were deemed to be "incubators for talent" with "adventurous lineups" and "just enough pull to draw up-and-coming touring acts."
