We're rolling down Exposition in an Expedition, and they be like, "Ah no, no, no he didn't." So we're like, "No, he didn't"? Really? Who talks like that? Austinist editors, sure, but who else?
You see a lot of Expeditions rolling down Exposition, especially when it's time to drop Jacob and Madison at Casis Elementary. Of course, relatively few of these lacrosse moms live on Exposition - most of them live in the million dollar stunners back up in there. So can you save some cash by living on a street like Exposition, which may be less desirable because it carries some traffic, but doesn't really go anywhere, so it doesn't mean as much noise as a house close to MoPac? Maybe so. Of the houses under $500,000 and not extremely close to MoPac that are currently for sale in Tarrytown, many are just off of Exposition. Here they are:
2710 Carlton Road - $419,000. 1,361 square feet. Built in 1956. Cute house. Interior looks recently remodeled and appears to be nicely done. Doesn't appear to be a great deal, but there aren't many other houses in this neighborhood at this price. |
3213 Windsor Road - $469,000. 2,056 square feet. Built in 1942. Somebody likes blue and gray, but this house doesn't look like it belongs to a Civil War buff. Also, we aren't big fans of those sinks that stick out above the countertop. Still, this seems like the best deal of the bunch, given the number of square feet, probably because it is quite close to one of the few retail centers in Tarrytown. |
2800 Cherry Lane - $485,000. 1,804 square feet. Built in 1950. Sounds like this one needs some work. It's a little scary to buy a house that "needs leveling." This one has been on the market a little over two months at this price, so maybe it is ready for an offer. |

And yet we wonder why people buy houses out in the sprawlsvilles of buda, pflugerville, and roundrock. $485k for a fixer-upper with foundation problems? Ow. I'd love to live in Tarrytown, locationwise. Guess I better marry well.
Yay! You do take requests- or at least put them as bonus links at the bottom of a page. My next request is Freebird.
Buying any of these houses is a good way to lose 100k+ in the next two years.
