Hey, Funny Boy, Shut Your Durn Yapper

Comedy can be a tough job. Especially in a Red State. Pauly Shore found that out the hard way when he was in Texas recently. Shore, son of The Comedy Store founder Mitzi Shore, was doing his set in Odessa, when drunken rednecks, er, patrons began harassing him mercilessly. Shore, a longtime veteran of stand-up, did not go Michael Richards, “Look, he’s a honky,” instead choosing to simply tell the “Hoss” in question to “Shut the fuck up.” Well, Bubba had Hoss’s back, and ol’ pansy boy comic from Hollyweird didn’t stand a chance.

The clip has already been removed from YouTube, but What Would Tyler Durden Do (by way of Redban.com) has the video footage of what happens when you mix comedy, booze and rednecks. As you can imagine, not good things. Specifically, Shore getting knocked out by an angry cowboy-hat-sporting good ol’ boy.

Of course, considering we are talking about the comedian who faked his own death a few years ago, this could all be a Kauffmanian ploy to drive interest in his flailing career. What do you think, real or staged?
