The folks at Worldchanging.com have taken their progressive message from blog form to book form. This could be the best blog to book transformation ever, at least until Austinist: The Book drops. Worldchanging fundamentally seeks to illuminate “the tools, models and ideas for building a better future [that] lie all around us.” Insisting “another world is not just possible, it's here. We only need to put the pieces together.” Worldchanging: A Users Guide for the 21st Century is full of proven ideas and models that everyday people can employ to make the world a better place. Brimming with content ranging from biomimicry to non-violent revolution, the encyclopedic tome spans 600 pages that are divided into seven sections.
In celebration of their book, Worldchanging has been sponsoring readings and “community-building gatherings” around the country. Tonight you can attend Austin’s very own Worldchanging event. The reading starts at BookPeople at 7PM, followed by an after-party right next door at REI. Go to swap ideas with other locals who are trying to make the world or great, or learn how you can, in fact, make a difference.
