We like pizza. We also like carnivals. We hate clowns, but that is entirely our issue. Anyway, Home Slice Pizza will celebrate their one-year anniversary this Saturday with a big honkin' carnival from 12-5pm and will donate the proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.
According to the Home Slicers, you can expect:
-An old school pizza eating contest for one full year of free Home Slice pizza.
-An amazing display of dough tossing dexterity by the International World Champion Pizza Tossing Acrobats (as seen on TV).
-A city-wide hand tossing challenge in which other local pizzerias compete against Home Slice to see who is the best.
-Hands on an Eggplant Sub in which contestants vie to be the last one touching the bun.
-Festive roving musical entertainers, exciting booths and games of skill, cheap beer for the grownups and lots of activities for the kids.
So, to recap: Pizza? Awesome. Big honkin' carnivals? Pretty cool. Lack of scary clowns? Even better.

Maybe I just went on an off day, but Home Slice has some of the worst pizza I've ever eaten. It tastes like the shit my high school cafeteria used to serve on Fridays. The snotty hipster employees didn't help either.
When they first opened, they had wonderful pizza but they went downhill real fast. Shame.
But I am still really excited about this carnival! I am a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters and I am gonna take my Little Brother. Should be much fun!
Salvation Pizza on 34th street = Best Pizza in Austin. Hands down.
