Terrorists Infiltrate East Side, Kind Of

Named for the proclivities of a Parisian couple who planned to take out the titular monument because its lights kept them up at night, San Diego's The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower play a fairly lovable brand of jazz-inflected sass-core. Or perhaps we should say they used to; since the show is billed as part of their last tour before they disband, presumably to further their careers in hedge fund management. The group takes its final bow in Austin tonight at the venerable Snake Eyes Vinyl on the east side, just off 7th Street. A slew of local bands will be on hand to provide aural and emotional support, running the gamut from Daniel Francis Doyle's skankified new wave to high-school pop-punk standard-bearers Finally Punk and Eat Avery's Bones. Good times! Snake Eyes hosts shows by local and touring indie bands almost every weekend, in addition to stocking pretty exclusive LPs and an extensive zine library (they may in fact be Austin's best-kept secret, music-retail-wise), so if nothing else go to check out those KISS picture discs you've been thinking about all day.
