Linklater Serves Up a Big Plate of Truth (with a side of humor) to Colbert

linklaterposter.jpgFor those of you who were out seeing the rock n’ roll or slamming Beaujolais Nouveau last night, you may have missed Austin filmmaker Richard Linklater on the Colbert Report. With his trademark ease, Linklater went toe-to-toe with the satirical newsman, discussing his new movie Fast Food Nation and explaining the evils of international mega food corps. and the harm they perpetuate vis-à-vis the environment and public health.

Linklater, while funny, didn’t try too hard, a move that is key to surviving Colbert’s bluster, and was able to even draw the anchor out of character a time or two. As a cool touch, the graphics folks over at the "Report" even Waking Lifed Colbert’s pompous trot over to the interview area. A tip of the hat to them, then.

Check out the tête-à-tête here. Fast Food Nation opens nationwide today.
